AI Ethics & Transparency
Last Updated: March 15, 2026
1. Our AI Mission
AssistHR was founded by Ravi Khatawliya with a core mission: to make hiring fairer. We believe AI should be a tool for empowerment and efficiency, not a "black box" that propagates bias.
2. Bias Mitigation
We use GPT-4o-mini through the Vercel AI SDK to analyze skills and experience. To minimize demographic bias:
- Focus on Skills: Our AI scoring algorithms are instructed to prioritize semantic matching between job requirements and candidate skills.
- Minimized Personal Identifiers: We encourage HR teams to use AI rankings based on skill scores before diving into personal identifiers.
3. Transparency in Scoring
Every candidate using AssistHR has the right to see their match score. We provide immediate transparency after resume upload, showing how the candidate's profile aligns with the job description. This eliminates the "resume black hole" and provides actionable feedback.
4. Human-In-The-Loop
While our AI evaluates transcripts and generates scorecards, HR professionals remain the ultimate decision-makers. Our AI provides data-driven insights and highlights strengths/weaknesses, but it does not independently hire or reject candidates.
5. Commitment to Progress
AI is a rapidly evolving field. We commit to regularly auditing our prompts and evaluation models to identify and fix potential algorithmic drift or unfair patterns, ensuring AssistHR remains a leader in ethical recruitment technology.
